The Heck With That!
Sometimes when we’re planning a season, we decide on a theme, focus
on a composer or specific type of music. Other times we say “the heck
with that,” and just book the biggest, baddest artists on the block
to come and give absolutely knockout concerts. For 2009-2010 at
Leffler Chapel we took the
“heck with that” route. And with names like the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra,
the Raleigh Ringers and the Vienna Boys Choir on the docket – not to
mention “Only in Elizabethtown” events featuring piano wizards Marc-Antonio Barone and Charles Abramovic, and Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man of Yo-Yo
Ma’s Silk Road Project – we think you’ll be pleased with the results.

The world’s most beloved choir, the Vienna
Boys Choir dates all the way back to 1498. They’ve performed for
emperors, generals, popes and kings. Franz Schubert was a member,
and they worked with Haydn and Mozart. A holiday concert by these
phenomenal young Austrians positively makes the season.
